I saw this photo of Blake Lively from the set of her Gossip Girl series, and I was instantly drawn to the handbag she was carrying. I think it was because I liked the subtle color combination of it, with its blue top handle, orange straps and a black and tan body. I also like the sturdy form of the satchel, which is another plus for me. It adds a lot to the bag’s functionality.
This is how a designer applies colorblocking to perfection. This handbag looks tailored and well-put together that the crazy but subtle mix of colors even highlights its style.

Designer Rebecca Minkoff was recently seen in town one of her creations, the Rivington convertible clutch bag which rounds up to about $835.
This piece is a perfect mix of the vintage and the trendy. What’s to love about it is that its structure is definitely classic and old school, with its perfect geometric shape. But the bold choices of colors and that unusual pattern make the bag stand out. With its color-blocking style, this handbag delivers a bit of that modern edge.
This handbag can be carried via the top handle, but it also comes conveniently with a chain strap. This piece is a considerably versatile handbag which can be worn with casuals or may also look right for business meetings.

Rebecca Minkoff Rivington Convertible Clutch
Simple, clean, minimalist. These words are used to best describe Phillip Lim’s next handbag collection for Spring 2012.
They come in very easy colors to match with and perhaps those yellow handbags would be the quirkiest to own. But nothing about the design is quirky as the bags are functional, roomy and classic.
The best part about it is these are priced less than a thousand dollars. For its quality, you would really be getting the bang for your buck.
These handbag will be up for sale by February.
3.1 Phillip Lim’s Spring 2012 Handbag Collection
These latest designs from Marc Jacobs present a collection that relies less on flair and more on colors and texture. To some, this looks plain and simple. But I really love what the designer has come up with.
I think these handbags are instant classics. However, these may look as though these designs have been done before, and way more affordable, which really doesn’t justify this collection’s current prices.
Anyway, my favorite from this set is this bag on top, the yellow checkered piece, which I think really fits spring perfectly.
I’m not too fond of the fringes but I do like that it isn’t way over the top.

Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 Handbag Collection
I am so loving this partly duffel bag and partly tote bag from Givenchy. This is the Antigone collection for its Fall and Winter 2011 line. I think that this makes a fittin replacement for a Tod’s D bag or a YSL tote, as those bags are hard to find.
I love how it looks so timeless, with its design and choices of colors. The bag is just the right size for busy people like me, who need everything in one bag. It’s very functional and the fact that it has a removable strap makes it easier to carry when full.
The designs come in regular leather, grained, embossed or in two-tones. I can’t pick which I like best. It also comes in a smaller size, which is just as functional as the bigger one.
Versatile and sophisticated, this bag is so underrated.
