Elizabeth Taylor’s Designer Handbags Auctioned Off
I realize that spring is literally still seasons away but I can’t help but check out spring bags this early and my eyes are drawn to those gorgeous applique bags in cream or nude shades. I prefer them in that neutral color because the bag’s design, as it is, is already overpowering that I like something that can blend with the wardrobe.
There are two designs I’m eyeing. One is affordably low-end and the other is a designer handbag with a hefty price tag. Both bags, however, would look really perfect for the season as well as for wearing day and night.
First up in this SM Flower Tote from DSW:
The size, shape and style is ideal for everyday wearing. I love how functional and pretty this is. And of course, I love that it’s only $50!
Synthetic tote with flowers Top snap closure Rolled handles with 8″ drop Fabric lining with back wall zipper pocket and two slip pockets Dimensions: 19″ x 7″ x 12″ Imported
The drawback is because it’s synthetic, it’s the kind of bag that will only last you up to a couple of years, and by then, the piece would look worn out.
The ohter bag is this Valentino Sand Big Flower Appliqué Shopper:
Similar to the first bag, this is also chic and functional. Made from quality material, you know this piece is going to last for years.
Luxurious bag in beige leather Eyecatcher: embellished with an XL-leather petal at the front Classic shopper shape Roomy, very high quality Totally stylish, a genuine dream accessory A sensational upgrade for simple muted looks during the day and at night
The only downside to this is the price, which costs an arm and a leg.
Two Flower Applique Bags, Low-End and High-End
Two of my friends are due to give birth three weeks apart this Fall and we’ve been planning on a combined baby shower for them. And instantly, I wanted to give them a diaper bag to use once their baby is born. But I didn’t want the usual diaper bags with all those cute baby prints.
My friends are bagistas and I thought that they would need something close to a designer handbag in style and form, but is actually filled with baby stuff inside. I know they’d love toting this around. I think it’s quite practical because they can still use the bag even when baby’s all grown up!
I’ve narrowed my choices down to these four gorgeous ones:
Petunia Pickle Bottom’s Moonlit Moments Sashay Satchel
I’ve been reading about Petunia Pickle Bottom’s diaper bags and I have to agree that they really have tons of interesting styles. This particular satchel hardly looks like a handy bag for your baby stuff. But this is one versatile bag. It comes with extra straps so that moms can carry this like a backpack.
And inside, it’s actually quite roomy and spacious. It even comes with a removable changing pad! How great is that?
This handbag is very modern and trendy, made from eco-friendly materials and organic cotton. The lovely prints are a plus point for me, because I love anything in light yellow!
Petunia Pickle Bottom Scout Journey Pack Compact Diaper Bag in Olive Green
This is a daddy diaper bag that most fathers will not shy away from wearing. But young mothers can also wear this and still look really hip and trendy.
The bag comes with extra pockets for the baby bottles on the outside. Inside, the bag is compact but roomy, with a detachable pad for changing, as well as a snap in compartment for storing other stuff or baby trash.
So contemporary and fashionable, isn’t it?
Tim & Leslie’s Marie Antoinette Diaper Bag
When I first saw this, I knew it looked very familiar. Doesn’t remind you of anything? A Miu Miu handbag! Here’s an actual Miu Miu and see how close they compare.
Fantastic, right?
This Marie Antoinette diaper bag is insulated and comes with changing pads and mesh pockets for the baby bottles. It also has straps for the stroller or shoulder.
Tim & Leslie’s The Dawn
You sure would get lots of praise for this handbag. It looks exactly like a fashionable designer handbag from Tressje or Matt & Natt. And there’s more to love about it, see:
All that space and use!!! It’s hard to let go of this handbag now, I think I love this one the best!
4 Fabulously Fashionable Diaper Bags
My computer’s spell-check is working perfectly fine. But the title is filled with all those K’s because, in case you didn’t know it and if that’s not obvious enough, the Kardashian sisters have this penchant for spelling most everything that begins with a C (but pronounced with a K) as K.
Anyway, the sisters have recently launched the newest product attached to their names. They have a line of handbags now and it’s exclusively released at Sear’s. The girls have been chosen to endorse the handbags and willingly sealed their names with it because they’re pretty much bagistas themselves and have closets full of designer handbag collections.
However, I doubt if they are truly involved with the design of their Kardashian Kollection, because if they were, something like this would’ve not slipped off their hands.
The first bag to the left is Botkier’s Clyde handbag. The one on the right is the design from the Kardashian Kollection.
These girls tote around Botkiers in Hollywood (aside from their LV’s, their Hermes, and all those other name brands). So, they must be so aware of which designs go with what brand.
But Botkier has claimed, the particular Kardashian handbag in the photo is a direct rip-off of their own design. Botkier even posted a blog about this claim and is mulling over reporting this to the CFDA.
Sears was quick to act on this and removed the actual handbag in contention from their website. It’s no longer up for sale. It’s interesting to see how this will develop. Guess someone’s already trying to solve this matter.
It’s not the first time the Kardashian sisters had their name endorsing a product only to pull out of the deal when something comes up wrong. They’re currently in a legal battle with a credit card company for another endorsement deal that didn’t fully deliver.

With so many landmark court cases where designer brands are winning over fake designer handbag makers, some 50 designers have bonded together to come up with special limited edition handbags for auction at Ebay.
The collaboration is one for the books, as many of the participants included famous labels like Reed Krakoff, Betsey Johnson, Jason Wu, Tory Burch, Kenneth Cole, Badgley Mischka and Rodarte.
The handbags each have the text “YOU CAN’T FAKE FASHION” on it and it all went on auction on Ebay last Monday.
But because these are very exclusive limited designs, there is only one handbag for each designer, meaning, as soon as these went online, the items were immediately off the market. Sources say that in total, the auction earned $7,500 for these handbags, which is actually just loose change for the designers and their industry.
However, as far as making a statement against imitators and fake merchandise, then this idea was also a huge success.
Personally, these special limited edition designs leaves little to be desired about when it comes to style. Some of these handbags actually look very amateur to me. But since they’re one of a kind and they’re statement bags, then coveting this would be great for a bagista’s collection.
But if you’re still raring to get one, this basic “You Can’t Fake Fashion” handbag is still up for grabs on Ebay, from the CFDA or Council of Fashion Designers of America:
