feNa Handbags: Promoting Positivity Through Fashion

Marc Jacobs has unveiled his resort collection for 2012 recently. The most distinct element about it is the use of color and here, the designer is never shy about having to use bold colors.

There are some handbags that look perfect for the color blocking trend. Although I have to say, that one in the blue and white motif had me do a double take because it pretty much looked like a child’s bag to me. However, the longer I look at it, the more I’m kind of appreciating the bag’s style. For summer or spring, this would be so ideal.

Inside, these handbags are lined with printed fabric with a fade-out effect, to match the rest of the collection (which had garments carrying the same fabric).

Other fashion experts think, however, that the floral printed handbag design looked more like rolls of wallpaper or daisy applique. I do think that a handbag wouldn’t be distinctly Marc Jacobs if there weren’t something far-out in the design and I think that is his signature.

Whether you love it or hate it, or think these handbags are a repeat of previous designs, only done with different colors or materials, these latest collection are all eye-grabbing pieces that is sure to make the wardrobe pop and punctuate one’s personal style.

I love the design of the Jypsiere because it looks really casual and easy to carry. The handbag, if you haven’t noticed, is a variation of the iconic Birkin Kelly handbag. Only this Jypsiere comes off as more casual since it’s a messenger/shoulder/crossbody bag. The rounded bottom makes this handbag look less rigid. It’s really perfect for dressing up a trendy outfit.

The update on the Kelly handbag, however, isn’t too drastic, for you can still see where the Jypsiere is inspired from. Thus, it makes this handbag all the more coveted because it can work for both uptown ladies as well as casual, laidback fashionista looking for a nice and suitable everyday bags.

Unfortunately, the price of the Jypsiere is a bit higher, as with all of Hermes’ merchandise. It falls around $7,000 to $8,000. *sigh*

The Jypsiere also has a version done in crocodile leather and it’s just as gorgeous as the original design.
