The color for Spring 2012, according to the Pantone institute, is Tangerine and this has been evident in the recent runway fashion show for labels like Dolce & Gabbana, Salvatorre Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Dior and many others. Orange or tangerine had been the dominant colors in their selections. It’s vibrant hue has definitely been bursting everywhere, whether this is solid and bold or in brightly colored prints.
Here are some bag choices in Tangerine, from favorite brands like Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler and Marc Jacobs:

Spring 2012 Trend Alert: Three Tangerine Handbags
Marc Jacobs unleashes its fun, quirky and playful side with this “Snakes on a Frame” cross body bag. But it’s the kind of handbag that people normally wouldn’t be caught wearing. The bag is beautiful and unique, don’t get me wrong. But it has a particular style to it that may be a little bit too much to carry around.
For one thing, it’s so yellow, which in itself is hard to match with just about any type of outfit. It also comes in a shape of sunglasses, and this oddly gives it an edgy vibe. The handbag doesn’t look versatile and will most likely attract too much attention when worn on a regular event.
However, if you want to make a splashy statement, then this is the perfect bag for it. I particularly love what is inside this handbag because of its snake-like texture. You don’t see this in a design very often.
Costing $298.00 at Shopbop, this also comes in black. But the yellow definitely delivers a lot more character and makes one look absolutely interesting.
Snakes on a Frame Cross Body Bag by Marc Jacobs
These latest designs from Marc Jacobs present a collection that relies less on flair and more on colors and texture. To some, this looks plain and simple. But I really love what the designer has come up with.
I think these handbags are instant classics. However, these may look as though these designs have been done before, and way more affordable, which really doesn’t justify this collection’s current prices.
Anyway, my favorite from this set is this bag on top, the yellow checkered piece, which I think really fits spring perfectly.
I’m not too fond of the fringes but I do like that it isn’t way over the top.

Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 Handbag Collection
Do you love a bucket bag design? It’s the least of my favorite bag shapes because I find that these do not have any structure and that I may end up digging for my things inside it.
But over the years, bucket handbag designs are becoming trendier and trendier. And it’s like every designer has a bucket bag or two in their collection. Bucket bags may not be a popular choice, just yet. But I’ve got a sense that in a couple of years, someone’s going to come up with an IT bag designed as a bucket bag.
For now, though, these selections I think are good enough to complement your style and fashion.
Chloé – Gabby Suede & Leather Patchwork Bucket Bag
I like the colorblocked style of this bucket bag. The pocket flaps also make it look contemporary. This is a roomy handbag at 8¾”W X 13″H X 8½”D. The inside is lined with cotton and comes with two more extra pockets. I just want it to come with longer straps, though.
DVF Gold/Black Bucket Bag with Tassel
I think this is a sexy bucket bag, made perfect by its black and gold combination. The tassel puts a nice decorative touch. A woman with a chic style sense can do wonders with this bag when it comes to styling. And since it’s in metallic, this handbag is already a classic accessory for the Fall/Winter season in my book.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Peace Work Stripe Bucket
I’m not so thrilled about the stripes but for some reason, I remain drawn to this bucket bag because of its structure. I think it’s compact enough to put a bag organizer in there. This is made of cotton and would be great for fall daytime wear.

3 Chic Bucket Bags
Vintage handbags are always in style, that’s what I think. They don’t actually follow a trend, because a vintage handbag is akin to individuality. These kinds of handbags have such characters, that they exude quite distinct and impressionable styles.
So many designers today take inspiration from vintage fashion. You could see lots of “vintage” handbags that carry brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci or Coach and they are mass-produced.
Take for instance, this Marc Jacobs vintage-inspired piece.
It’s rich two-tone leather, plus the actual structure of the bag perfectly encapsulates what vintage handbags are about. This handbag was released as part of Marc Jacob’s Crosby Collection.
But a truly vintage handbag doesn’t come from a famous name-brand and is about 50 years old, never manufactured or made presently. And a few people only have such handbags, and it’s never mass-produced. So it’s somewhat rare and unique, as well as made of high quality leather, in spite of its age. It has that kind of leather that smells really musky, it’s love!
Some vintage handbags are so intricately designed, they look really, really fashionable. Here’s another example of a vintage inspired design released by Fossil, which combines leather and calf hair, it looks really gorgeous.
And here’s one from Roberta di Camerino, its Large Caravel Vintage Belt Bag with contrasting colors. Lovely, fun yet still classy and elegant.
And lastly, a vintage-inspired Kate Spade handbag in sunny yellow! This is Kate Spade’s New York Bixby Bag. What’s not to love?
