Actress Katherine Heigl stepped out of a restaurant with her family over the weekend carrying this zebra printed pony handbag from Salvatorre Ferragamo.
Say what you will about animal prints, but I think this style is here to stay. Especially when it comes to handbags. I think that animal prints suit handbags well as this does a lot to punctuate a whole ensemble.
Katherine’s handbag is just the right size for going out to dinners with family, while probably doing a bit of work here and there (she could be talking to her agents, publicists or managers in between).
The handbag is named “W” after Wanda Ferragamo, who is the mother of the name brand. This shape was originally designed by Fiamma Ferragamo, sister of Salvatore, in the 70′s and was upgraded and added with this zebra-printed calf hair.
This handbag is part of the Salvatore Ferragamo’s latest women’s wear collection.

Early this year, Bottega Veneta released a rather odd-looking handbag I’m not sure was designed by a person with the right frame of mind. Take a look at the whole thing:
If not for the really white and clean look, I could’ve sworn this bag was garbage left to be played with by cats believing it was their scratching post.
Bottega Veneta normally does away with bold pieces and stick with the classic and simple designs. This is coming out of their comfort zone and releasing a bag that surely does let one do a double take, but for the wrong reasons.

I love that the piece is timeless and can be worn over and over. It makes a good investment.

I really love how simple but elegant this clutch’s design is. I also love that it’s only $79.90! The snakeskin leather is faux, of course. But the bag looks really smashing and first-rate.

Nichole Richie’s House Of Harlow is adding a new set of fashion items to her growing fashion line. The brand is first and foremost an accessories brand, but this coming Fall, it will be coming out with its own handbag collection. And these are just some of the clutches that will be up for sale.
According to reports, House of Harlow’s handbag collection will boast of 14 pieces of clutches, cross body bags and hobos. I’m actually excited to see the other designs, considering how much I like House of Harlow’s boho inspired style. The brand is known for its throwback to 1960′s, which is also a personal preference of Nicole Richie.
She says to the press:
“Handbags have always been a part of the equation since we first launched the House of Harlow 1960 brand. We just needed to make sure all of the components were aligned before setting foot into that category. The collection is quite small in terms of the styles we are launching with. I wanted to make sure that each piece is special and then be able to grow it slowly and organically season after season.”
The handbags will make use of vintage leather and calf hair for its designs. Some pieces will also infuse studs and jaguar heads, said to be a favorite animal of the celebrity entrepreneur.
House of Harlow handbags will be available this July at stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Shopbop.com.
