Reese Witherspoon is being heavily criticized for having seen carrying this gorgeous Chloe Paraty Phyton Leather Handbag the other week.
Animal rights activitist group PETA has said the actress could not have bought the item in California where sale of python leather has been prohibited since the 70′s. But she was seen with walking around Venice in this handbag.
Why PETA is criticizing her and not other actresses like Katie Holmes or the Olsen twins who also own their own Paraty’s is probably because the animal activist group has voted the Oscar-winning actress as one of the World’s Sexiest Vegetarian recently.
I think they were expecting more from her and could not believe she would be owning this bag.
According to PETA’s statement:
“No matter how much Reese paid for that bag, the animals paid a much higher price. Every year, millions of snakes are impaled on hooks or nailed to trees by their heads and skinned alive. Hoses are inserted into the mouths of large snakes—like pythons—and their bodies are pumped full of water to loosen their skin so that it will cut away more easily. The animals’ peeled, writhing bodies are then discarded, and it often takes days for the animals to die from the effects of shock and dehydration. We can’t imagine that she’d wish to contribute to this hidden suffering, especially for something as frivolous as a fashion accessory that can be replicated with no bloodshed. These days, it’s easy to have a look that kills without killing, with fake snake, mock croc, python pleather, and other designer items that pay tribute to the beauty of these animals without massacring them.”

The royal sister and now, fashion icon, Pippa Middleton was recently seen in town with the Leoni handbag clutch.
Pippa’s perennial favorite, her $225 Modalu handbag, has temporarily been set aside for this $3,300 handbag and as always, the stylish woman carries it well.
The bag is made of python leather and has texture. It features a chain strap with gold detailing. It comes in many fashionable colors, but I guess black would have to be a classic choice. I like that it’s quite understated and yet the bag exudes elegance.
Be it formal or just a normal everyday event, this handbag would be great to use.
The clincher here is this handbag is supposedly not yet available, but I guess being a royal sister and one of the most stylish woman fashion magazines are following these days, Pippa gets to get first dibs on it.
“Leoni” shoulder clutch bag in anthracite soft mat python with antique rose gold plated hardware. Flap cover with magnetic pressure botton, one zipped pocket, one open pocket and one cell phone open compartment. Dimensions: 12.6×7.5×1.4 ”
You can get this at Bulgari.

When it comes to handbags, Burberry’s would not be first label I’d pick bags from. Most of their designs do not appeal to me. Although they do look sleek and preppy, it’s just not the style I would immediately like.
But that may all change with this Nude Collection, which is set for launching today, the first of September, in connection with the launch of their newest fragrance named Body.
I like the fact that these handbags are totally without frills and embellishments. Made of leather and suede, these are really elegant and has none of that plaid print Burberry is known for. Designer Christopher Bailey definitely made sure to play it all up on the bag’s material and design.
This bowling bag lends a fresh look, I cannot help but love it.
And this clutch bag, with its exotic python leather, is a total beauty:
The Nude Collection actually also includes apparel and other accessories, all to tie up with their newest fragrance.

What is not there to love about an Elly Clay handbag? Just take a look at some of what she has to offer. These are some of the edgiest and trendiest designs I’ve seen from handbags and they look absolutely great!
This is called the Billy Jean Clutch, which is a cross between rocker chic and urban chic. The handbag comes with a fold over design and the flaps are zippered down with a few tassels. It looks totally cool and radical. The style is a stand-out and looks even better with all the choices of prints and colors or it.
This clutch is oversized, thus making it more utilitarian than regular clutches. It also comes with a strap, so that it can be worn as a shoulder bag.
For $220, this handbag is worth the price!
Elly Clay’s textured satchel in bright, almost turquoise blue, is probably my favorite in her collection. This also comes in fuchsia, black and pewter but I really love the blue best. I especially love the size, it’s the kind I need from the bag.
This satchel is designed in glazed calf leather and embossed python. The surface is textured and oh, so gorgeous! Brass hardware complete its style.
Lastly, this is Elly Clay’s Boyfriend Hobo and its the edgiest from this selection. The handbag has an unusual strap, which sets it apart. I’m not so thrilled about the studs but I can live with it. The handbag is made of elephant grain calf leather and it’s really spacious inside.
Elly Clay is designed by Crystal Haylett, who is based in New York. As a new player in the handbag scene, her designs have really become much sought after by celebrities and socialites. The handbags make use of a lot of hardware and fringes, as you have seen and the best way to describe Elly Clay’s style is that is truly fashion forward.

When colorful school girl satchels with flaps dictate the trends these days, it’s nice to see a different style of handbag where that flap is absent.
This is the Reed Krakoff Gym Bag. For whatever reason, I don’t think “GYM” bag actually fits into its style. Because it looks nothing like gym bags, where one puts sweat socks, soiled shorts, smelly sneakers and towels. This bag sure don’t fit what I know “GYM” bags to be:
However, I do love the handbag. It’s made of all leather and passes off a chic and utilitarian style. You can use it as a top handle one day, or a shoulder bag next day, thanks to its detachable straps. The bag is also very spacious inside, which makes it very convenient for a busy and happening woman who needs a bag that can support anything she wants to put in it.
These Reed Krakoff Gym Bags starts off at $790 and the most expensive kind, perhaps with the python leather is $4500.
Lovely, convenient, great for work, great for workout, great for weekends. What more can you ask?
