Louis Vuitton Handbags Get In On This Color Blocking Trend
May 17th, 2011

Google has defined the color blocking trend as this —

Color blocking is a technique where blocks of various fabrics are sewn together to create clothing with a few different solid colors.

It basically is a style with different sets or block of colors put together to create one piece. For clothes, you exhibit this by wearing one solid color for the top and a different, contrasting color for the bottom and the shoes. For emphasis on the wardrobe, you would need a good, colorful bag to complete the look.

Louis Vuitton’s latest in their Spring/Summer 2011 handbag line, demonstrates the concept of color blocking so perfectly.

While I’m not exactly thrilled by these bags design idea in general, I love the choices of colors combined to make these clutches really work the trend.

These handbags come in three colors. Two of them are done in patent leather, which is also quite fashionable these days. I really love the one in pink, in spite of being too small for me.

The other is made from leather and suede with golden brass accents, which looks tamer but more elegant.

Which of these color blocked bags do you love from Louis Vuitton?

Céline Luggage Phantom
Apr 26th, 2011

For a while now, I’ve seen lots of women carrying Louis Vuitton’s Neverfull with them because it’s basically the kind of bag you can put anything inside. With it’s very wide interior, the bag is literally never full and I think this Phantom tote from Celine is going to beat that.

How gorgeous are these bags, huh?

The design has been intentionally over extended, with its flaps on the side. It looks like a batwing, which is actually quite trendy, as you see this in a lot of tops and blouses for women.

The bag is accented with a tassel….lots and lots of tassel and while the shape does seem wacky, the bag can still look traditionally like a luggage shopper, which is quite sophisticated.

The bags are either made of suede/leather or croc leather. I can’t help but gush over its sheer gorgeousness.

What about you?

You can get this from Celine when it comes out for Fall 2011.

Jimmy Choo “Candice” Crystal-Snake Suede Clutch
Apr 4th, 2011

This Jimmy Choo snake inspired clutch bag is indeed quite the charming piece. I am very impressed by the way its designed.

It’s featured with gunmetal hardware, with green crystal-embellished snake charm as its central piece. The bag is done in black suede, which looks absolutely beautiful and glamorous. The clutch looks roomy enough with its fold-over style. Overall, the combination looks really irresistible and sexy…in spite the fact that suede can be a high maintenance bag.

Incidentally, Jimmy Choo intends to buy back his brand for £500 Million, did you know that? He actually doesn’t design for his brand anymore, ever since the name has been bought by TowerBrook and Tamara Mellon.

TowerBrook might just enter into this deal with the designer and give his label back. But report are saying that Tamara Mellon, who herself is a designer, might opt out. Tamara owns 15% of the Jimmy Choo brand label.

Mar 17th, 2011

The Lily Bag from Mulberry is a limited edition bejewelled piece that has been released as part of its Spring and Summer 2011 Collection. It’s design is based on an old and classic Mulberry favorite. But while the Lily is actually just natural leather, this limited edition is of camel suede and then embellished with 2,596 Swarovski crystals 460 rivets. All these have been manually applied.

The carefully handmade and jeweled Lily bag retails for about $5,250. No two bags look the same, since each has been done by hand. Also, there are only about 25 of these in the market.
